CAD CAM in orthodontics
Gaurav Sharma, Neeta Singh, Rashmi Puri
The objective of this book is to give an insight into the CAD CAM in orthodontics. Computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacture (CAM) is a process where non-digital data is captured, converted into a digital format, edited as necessary, and subsequently converted back into a physical form with the exact dimensions and materials specified during the digital design process, usually by either 3D printing or miling. This set of stages is known as a "digital workflow". With changing times dentistry is also evolving towards digital use. In orthodontics CAD CAM can be used for various processes such as intraoral scanning, indirect bonding, for planning of orthognathic surgery, aligners, etc.
