This book is the result of a research whose objective was to analyze the Diversity and Inclusion Policy of the Bahian IF from the perspective of promoting the access and permanence of people with disabilities in the activities offered by the Institute. It was a qualitative research, characterized as interpretative and critical and was carried out, especially, through bibliographic research and field research, using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The study approached historical aspects of Special Education from an inclusive perspective in Brazil, explaining, in a contextualized manner, important aspects of the process of inclusion of the person with disability in the country and also about the Policy of Diversity and Inclusion of the IF Baiano and the Implementation of the Nucleus of Assistance to People with Specific Needs - Napne. The main challenge of this attempt was to reveal if and how the Policy of Inclusion contributes to the successful permanence of students with disability in the process of teaching learning.
