Este projeto pretendia colmatar uma lacuna existente em Portugal ao analisar a evolucao e os perfis de casamentos binacionais registados no pais desde 1997 a 2011. Para tal, foram analisados os micro-dados dos casamentos anuais recolhidos pelo INE, de forma a perceber a especificidade deste fenomeno face aos casamentos ocorridos entre dois nacionais de Portugal. Foram examinados os casamentos entre portugueses (homens e mulheres) e cidadaos nacionais de alguns dos grupos de imigrantes mais representativos no nosso pais: brasileiros, europeus da UE15 e da UE27, europeus de Leste (ucranianos, russos), e africanos (angolanos, mocambicanos e cabo-verdianos).
