Literaturwissenschaft heute: Gegenstand, Positionen, Relevanz

In the scientific landscape of the past few decades, the terms culture and media have been used in particular, thus enabling transdisciplinary claims to be formulated. This results in an unprecedented density of interdisciplinary approaches that have opened up new topics for the humanities. Literature disciplines work as text sciences in the large context of other systems and media and thus face epistemological changes and breaks since the second half of the 20th century. It is indisputable that interdisciplinarity, pluralism of methods and the establishment of theoretically productive dialogue points have opened up research fields to which literary studies has made cognitively fruitful contributions. This volume deals with the determination of the subject of literature in the context of new art terms and discusses how efficient literary studies and their theories are in the current social context.
