Zur Betonung Geographischer Namen Im Deutschsprachigen Europa

English summary: This book registers the accentuation or syllable-stressing of more than 24,000 geographic names from the German-speaking parts of Europe. On the basis of this information, therefore, diachronic and synchronic points of reference are established in order to illuminate the relationships amongst various forms of accentuation. On the one hand, this work serves as a reference guide and, on the other hand, it presents the patterns in the development of place-names both past and present. The chief section of this book focuses on topo-fixes or various word augmentations related to place-names, which occur stressed and also unstressed. Subsequently, various processes are outlined, which have contributed to the present conditions of place-name accentuation. German description: Im vorliegenden Band ist die Betonung von mehr als 24 000 geographischen Namen im deutschsprachigen Raum aufgezeichnet. Dabei werden diachronische wie auch synchronische Bezugspunkte berucksichtigt, um die heutigen Betonungsverhaltnisse zu erlautern. Das Werk dient einerseits als Nachschlagewerk, andererseits stellt es die Regelmassigkeiten bei der vergangenen wie auch bei der heutigen Namensbildung dar. Der Hauptteil befasst sich mit den Topofixen bzw. unterscheidenden Zusatzen, die betont und auch unbetont vorkommen. Anschliessend sind die verschiedenen Vorgange zusammengefasst, die zur gegenwartigen Betonungslage beigetragen haben.
