This volume represents the proceedings from the 4th Eurographic Workshop on Multimedia, May 28-30, 1996, held in Rostock, Germany. The 15 contributions selected for the book treat topics of particular interest in current research, and address actual problems of the use of multimedia in distributed applications over the network.
