Being Yourself in Jeus and He’s being Himself in You

As Christians we want to be like Jesus Christ. In this day of celebrity we want to be like our heroes, yet when we try to change our personality, we fail and become frustrated. This is often because we are trying to change the wrong thing. Our personality is God given and cannot be changed, so stop trying. Our character is our choice. We learn our beliefs, our values and attitudes as we develop. As adults we can choose to reject negative characteristics that we have learnt and instead choose the character of Christ. God through His Holy Spirit helps us change our character into a Christ-like character. The most important characteristic that we can develop is love, just as Christ said, A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
