Joan McFarlane was elected as a Stratford-upon-Avon Town Councillor for the first time in 1987 and then to Stratford-upon-Avon District Council in 1999. She was immediately smitten by the wealth of history she found herself amongst.
History in itself does not interest everyone. However, in 2012 she set about researching interesting facts that came to her attention. Short paragraphs were easily digested so these formed the basis for the Cameos Joan set about to write.
These words were dictated to her by friends, read about clad in white gloves in the archives of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust reading room and from books and booklets that came to her attention.
What is before you took many hours and the result is quite short.
