Tree Callister is leaving Sanibel Island!

Sanibel's most unlikely private detective has decided to call it a day. Battered by hurricanes, their Captiva home in ruins, Tree and his wife Freddie are moving to Chicago.

Just before he leaves, Tree gets a call from his former wife, Judy Markov. Known as the American Oligarch, thanks to the business she inherited from her late Russian husband, Judy demands a favor of Tree.

Simple enough, drive to Judy's burned-out mansion and pick up a piece of jewelry. Reluctantly, Tree agrees, only to discover the jewelry in question is the Alexandra Tiara. It was worn by Tsarina Alexandra for her wedding to Nicholas II, Russia's last tsar. The priceless jewel-encrusted tiara was thought to be lost. Now Russian President Vladimir Putin wants it back. A lot of nasty people are willing to do anything to get it for him.

They include a gun-toting Russian agent, Red Dahlia; Sergei Markov, Judy's brother-in-law, hiding out on a private jet in Naples with his alluring girlfriend, Stoya; General Buck Ares, a right-wing crazy who operates a secret organization called Legio Three; Orcus, the mysterious financer behind Legio three; the murderous Alina, who claims to be Vladimir Putin's first love. Finally, and most dangerously, Putin's personal hitman, Boris Volkova.

This may be the Sanibel Sunset Detective's last case in more ways than one. A mystery, a remembrance of a time gone by and, most surprisingly perhaps, a heartfelt love story of two people losing and then, against all odds, finding one another again. It could also be Tree Callister's most exciting, page-turning adventure ever!
