This collection of short stories and recollections of times 50 years ago or more is arranged by topic. The pieces are largely derived from transcriptions of small group conversations as individuals share experiences of growing up, largely on Prince Edward Island. The work is primarily the work of the Montague 50+ Club.Topics include babies and childbirth, schkool and teachers, reading and libraries, winters, hurricanes, floods, horse travel, train travel, ferries, farming, milking, butter-making, vegetable storage for winter, harvesting, farm machinery, holidays including Halloween and Christmas, houses, electricity, telephones, party lines, elections, vehicles, doctors and operations, museums, fairs and festivals, and getting old.
