Inspirations of the heart was a compilation of poetry written while I was in solitary confinement. Whenever your isolated away from society, and you get to ponder upon your life, the direction of which you was headed and the direction that you need to go, it is during these times you get a Abundance of inspiration. Inspiration that flows from your heart and emotions, which is actually your soul. This is the reason why Writers go on vacation or to be isolated in a cabin in the woods. Being confine away from society where they utilize their creative part of the brain without distractions. This is where The mind often drifts into many moods; depression, anxiety, joy, ext. And in each emotion I chose to exercise the creative cortex of my spirit mind and?soul. During this involuntary confinement I lost my father. I was not able to attend his funeral. This let me know that I had to make wiser decisions in life because we only have one life to live. We often treat life with a looseness that sometimes places our lives in jeopardy. This renewed mindset brought a plethora of poems and inspiration writings to fruition. Poetry was my way of passing time. I wrote approximately 2000 poems during this duration. I expanded my vocabulary so that my poems wouldn't be repetitive and sound redundant. Imaging being in a room almost not big enough to take 4 steps. Imagine not leaving that room for up to 5 months straight. Either you will begin to lose your mind or use your mind. I chose to use my mind to expand my vision. The Bible says my people perish for lack of vision. I wasn't going to perish but cherish those moments of silence because soon I would be bombarded with the very daily distractions that lead me here. Yet with a new perspective so as not to return.
