Unable to recover the diamonds or save his sisters he resorts to African folklore and seeks the services of an Inyanga. The Inyanga places a curse on the diamonds which last for over 200 years and affect the lives of many unsuspecting owners of the uncut diamonds.
Some 200 years later a priceless ring fashioned from the uncut stones is made part of an ensemble for a birthday gift.
Everyone who sees the ring, holds the ring and desires to possess the ring encounter and untimely death; the person who is ultimately affected the most by the curse, is a child born out of wedlock to a 16-year-old girl.
