In 1886 a young boy at the age of 10 has his sisters kidnapped and a handful of uncut diamonds stolen from him. Unable to recover the diamonds or save his sisters he resorts to African folklore and seeks the services of an Inyanga. The Inyanga places a curse on the diamonds which last for over 200 years and affect the lives of many unsuspecting owners of the uncut diamonds.

Some 200 years later a priceless ring fashioned from the uncut stones is made part of an ensemble for a birthday gift.

Everyone who sees the ring, holds the ring and desires to possess the ring encounter and untimely death; the person who is ultimately affected the most by the curse, is a child born out of wedlock to a 16-year-old girl.
