Twelve-year-old Lexa loves only one thing more than being a social media influencer, and that’s pulling pranks with her best friend, James. But when one prank goes too far, her parents send her away to Chronnite School for Highly Creatives, an elite boarding school with a hidden agenda. Unenthusiastic about having her whole life flipped around and still grieving the recent death of her beloved hound dog, Lexa is baffled by sightings of a strange blue boy who’s been appearing at random - is she seeing ghosts, hallucinating, or what?
Lexa finds hope when she runs into James who convinced his parents to let him attend the school too. Yet any excitement over their reunion is short-lived when, during another visit from the blue boy, he reveals himself to be Norbu - a time traveler using advanced AI to communicate. Worse, he tells Lexa about how the school’s donors are responsible for a future environmental catastrophe, and she will need to get the word out within one week in order to foil their plans.
Lexa and James decide to use their pranking abilities for good enlisting the help of their newfound friends, Sage and Will - and Lexa’s dream-traveling hound dog who makes a surprise appearance.
Dealing with blackmailing bullies and evading the guards who stalk the halls at night, one thing becomes clear: there is a powerful force that wants to keep Lexa at Chronnite. And if she can’t escape to reveal the truth about her school’s donors, the world as she knows it will cease to exist.
