Outside Agitator: The Civil Rights Struggle of Cleveland Sellers Jr.

Adam Parker is the Features Editor for the Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper the Charleston Post and Courier. He has extensive newspaper and traditional media ties, as well as a strong following on social media. He is connected at South Carolina universities and with the Charleston literary scene.

This book is timed with the 50th anniversary of the Orangeburg Massacre. The renewed interest in the event spurred Ecco to re-release Cleveland Sellers’s memoir The River of No Return: The Autobiography of a Black Militant and the Life and Death of SNCC in January of this year.

Cleve Sellers has an expansive network across the South and will appear with Adam in Columbia and Orangeburg, as well as colleges. Cleve’s son is Bakari Sellers, who represented South Carolina’s 90th district and is now a regular on CNN.
