Nimai and Syama were neglected kittens made to sleep outside and go hungry. When animal lover Vicky noticed they weren’t taken care of and an icy winter crept upon their garden home, she began her journey to rescue them and show that some people are worthy of their trust.

Alhadeff’s tale is sadly an all-too-common one of two neglected cats entirely left to fend for themselves by their ‘owner’. Through Alhadeff’s acts of kindness we see how her friendship with the cats blossoms as the trust between them grows. The author’s compassion, dedication and patience shines through her words and is rewarded by a mutually respectful relationship with Nimai and Syama. Even before opening, the book beckons you in with soft and warm illustrations by Anja Kolenko.

This is a great book for anyone with children and cats already living together or those thinking of adding a feline to the family.
