The New Testament Received As Scripture: A Series of Volumes Examining the Origins of the Books of the Christian Canon-Volume III: The Thessalonian Epistles, the Apocalypse

M W J Phelan

Bible-based Christianity claims to be a revelation from God, in fact it claims to comprise the most comprehensive collection of truths concerning the nature and purposes of God, and the nature and destiny of mankind that has ever been revealed. It claims that this revelation was made to mankind by Divinely Inspired, and therefore, utterly inerrant writings that have been transmitted to us through what is popularly known as the New Testament. For the believer then, it becomes a matter of supreme importance to establish the genuineness of the collection of documents that make up the New Testament. But, when were these documents that form the Christian Canon or New Testament written? What is their nature? Where, why, how and in what sequence were they written? May we trust what they say? Were they actually written by those whose names are associated with them, or are they pseudonymous? Above and beyond all of these questions, we must ask by what means might they truly have been Inspired? These are the problems which will be dealt with in this series of volumes.
