My name is Frank Menken. I’m a portrait/ street photographer from Australia.

In December 2019 I spent 3 weeks in New York City, photographing its people and its soul.

This zine is a culmination of the work I put in over the course of the three weeks I was there, photographing the people of the city and their daily lives.

The images you find in these pages are one of two things. Either they are images I connect with on a personal level, or images that I believe stand out technically.

Through the remainder of this zine, you will find no text. This is because I believe for an image to be truly great, it should be able to stand alone.

I hope you find something in these images. I actively encourage you to create your own meaning, and build your own stories around these photos and the people in them.

I know just as much about these peoples lives as you do, so feel free to fill in the blanks as you see fit.
