This is the story of an ageing man trying desperately to recapture his youth with an impoverished but beautiful young woman. She, for her part, is looking to make her fortune, in the time-honoured way. Harry, a sixty-seven-year-old successful businessman, in an unnamed South American country, meets Violeta, a nineteen-year-old Colombian model and falls in love with her. He showers her with presents and takes her on expensive lust-filled holidays around the world. Though she is fascinated by her new wealth, she is constantly aware that he will never marry her and will eventually leave her or die. As the years pass, she begins to look for younger partners. This causes great anguish to Harry who tries desperately to cling to his dream, for which he has sacrificed family and friends.
