The Pogglin year is 1635 in the country of Pogglinburg, and the celebrations were underway for the Feast of the Day of New Hope. Yet, before the sun had set, the entire country was plunged into despair! That evening, the acclaimed Pogglin sorcerer and adventurer, Mr Lucian Snuzz, had enjoyed the Feast Day in the company of his oldest friends, Sir Septimus Pulpit and Artimus Whistlecraft. None of them could have predicted the tragedy that would unfold before their eyes.

Now the safety of their nation hangs in the balance, and Lucian and his friends have no choice but to venture into the wild, uncharted lands of Empraktos-Larris. Racing against time, they meet new friends and adversaries along the way as they journey through fantastical and dangerous regions.
