My wife, Diane, died on 3rd November 2022. We had been married 45 years. Her passing tipped me into a breakdown.
I went to Moss Park (mental health) Hospital as a voluntary patient, but they sent me to Scarborough, where I was sectioned. They should not have done that. It allowed them to keep me locked up for 6 months, which they did.
During that time, I was prevented from organising or even attending my own wife's funeral.
But, later, I escaped and went to Switzerland to search for my Swiss family. I didn't find them but my escape ultimately led to my release from hospital.
