White Propellers

It is the year 2050: the year of zero emissions. England is post Brexit, Covid-19 and the dissolution of the United Kingdom. It is under the control of a cabal of Earth scientists and followers of a Wicca based religious cult. In 2030 the government passed the hated Earth Laws. These restrict the eating of bovine meat, ban the internal combustion engine and severely reduce the daily hours of electricity generated by the sprawling offshore wind farms. The coastal town of Margate is a tinderbox. It is too hot; the mayor is too corrupt and too many bodies of climate refugees wash up on its beaches. The story focuses upon a young Ghanaian refugee and her role in the national rebellion against the Earth Laws.
