Mercy Lake likes to fix things. To fix people. Afraid of daylight, she only goes out after dark and she uses the secrecy of night to watch the people in her town. She collects the details of their lives and, when someone needs her help, she steps in - secretly and gently.

Then she meets Louis, and her lonely, quiet life is suddenly filled with excitement. Like Mercy, Louis likes getting involved in the lives of those around him but he’s not afraid to take more direct action. If someone has done something bad then surely they deserve any action necessary to stop them?

As Louis and Mercy grow closer, she is enchanted but frightened by his actions. Who is he really? And what will happen as they watch, and learn more about each other? How will their secrets be fixed?
