Chapter one deals with the 'disciple asking his teacher on how to avoid the bondages and pain of the world', Chapter two deals with the 'satsangat and the characteristics of the saints', Chapter three deals with the 'seven foundations of knowledge', Chapter four deals with the 'techniques used to gain knowledge', Chapter five deals with 'eradicating attachment for material desires and family', Chapter six deals with the 'metaphors dealing with becoming unattached with the world', Chapter seven deals with the 'teacher advising the pupil how to live their life' and Chapter eight deals with 'testing the disciple and congratulating them'.
