Helen wrote this story shortly before she died in a tragic road traffic accident in 2010 at the early age of thirty-nine, leaving behind her husband, Shaun and children Jay and Laura, aged twelve and nine. The story was inspired by real events and pets from her life and she hoped to have it published. Helens love of animals was only matched by the love of her children with whom she shared her joy of animals. Helen was a primary school teacher and we hope this story will delight children, be a lasting legacy of the loving and caring life she led, and help to keep her memory alive, especially for Jay and Laura.
