Mazes are puzzles that stimulate basic cognitive functions. They can be used as a diversion or mental challenge. They can be solved with pencil and paper, without an electronic interface. They do not require skills of reading or writing. For these reasons the authors feel that mazes can be useful in the mental development of children.
