I Am

I AM is a children’s book about a little girl who did not like the texture of her hair nor the color of her skin. The little girl was bullied at school because of her dark brown complexion. The author teaches her readers to love who they are despite others’ opinions. This book aims to boost self-esteem and self-awareness in all girls. It seeks to help brown young girls appreciate their beauty, inside and out, while encouraging others to do the same. The author teaches kids to be confident and proud of the skin they’re in.
