Waiting is often perceived negatively, for it usually presents itself at the most inopportune times. Regardless of our season in life, nine times out of ten, we are either waiting on something or someone or waiting for something or someone. Because we live in an immediate gratification culture, we must learn the practice and prosperity of waiting. This learned skill is just as prominent in the spiritual realm as it is in the physical. In fact, waiting is a necessity as one grows closer and draws nearer to the Lord. How adept we are with this skill can directly reflect our degree of trust in the Father, our level of assurance in His care, and our measure of spiritual maturity. The more intensely we desire an outcome, the more significant our lesson during the wait. The Father knows us better than we know ourselves, and it is through the wait that He draws us nearer to Him. My prayer is for His people to learn to effectively excavate the treasures He has hidden in our times of waiting, for our good and His glory!
