The story has a healthy dose of fantasy and thriller thrown in-not to mention its solid feminist content. Savage should be applauded for having been able to combine all these genres fairly, seamlessly. Lu is a pretty fascinating character and she reacts to the oddness of being confronted with angels and demons in a relatively believable manner.
Readers will meet heroine number two, Liddi - a stand alone novel and two more heroines will follow in this century saga occurring from 1960 - 2060. Each heroine is individually unique and must team up with mystical angels, in the end saving the female gender from extinction. This is a roller coaster ride you want to be on as these heroines hold the fate of all humanity in their hands.
