Don’t hide. Seek Him instead! Do you play games with God? In the Garden of Eden, man hid out of guilt and shame. It is no different today; we still hide from Him as much as we hide from each other. Debra States has been led by the Holy Spirit to share her inspiring - and often heartbreaking - journey of fear and faith. Her honest and detailed accounts of a life marked by poverty, abuse and shame have become a comfort to groups of women from all walks of life. Now, in Hide and Seek, Debra asks us to reflect on the masks we wear with each other, the lessons we can take from painful experiences, and the choices we make when no one is watching. She shows us that, despite what we endure, we can choose to give our pain to God and let Him heal us. Debra States feels that she is just an everyday woman with a passion to reach out to women who have stuff that needs to be addressed. After the pain and struggle of an abusive childhood and risky teen years, Debra finally found forgiveness and healing in Christ. After attending Colorado Christian University and leading groups for Life Skills International, Debra started a ministry to challenge women to get real about their experiences. She feels called to share what God has laid upon her heart with as many as possible. Debra calls Colorado home and brings a camera everywhere to capture God’s inspiring beauty along the Rocky Mountains. She enjoys spending time with Chuck, her husband of 32 years, and their five precious grandchildren. Hide and Seek is her first book. A companion devotional and study guide is planned, in addition to more books. Visit her online at www.debrastates.com.
