Tobias Returns: A Call for Help

Back in California, Tobias calls to Mira in a dream. She must go to the site of his lonely grave. But she is frightened. How can this be happening? Ben joins Mira and together they take their bikes and head out across the Mojave. They arrive to find a beautiful female coyote keeping watch at Toby’s grave.

Taking refuge in a small cafe, Mira and Ben soon learn that the faithful coyote at Tobias grave is in imminent danger from hunters determined to kill her for her valuable russet coat.

That night, as Ben sleeps, Mira returns to the grave. She has borrowed her father’s gun but what good will it do against a group of rowdy hunters anxious to butcher Tobias’ mate for her fur - and then, with stealth and cunning, to hunt down and kill Tobias’ hidden pups.
