Teresa Fernandez Soneira (Havana, Cuba, 1947-) is a Cuban writer and historian that has researched and published books on the history of education and the Catholic Church in Cuba. As a researcher, she has made important contributions with her books: Apuntes desde el Destierro (1990); CUBA: Historia de la Educacion Catolica 1582-1961(1997); Con la Estrella y la Cruz: Historia de las Juventudes de Accion Catolica Cubana (2002), y Ninos que Triunfan - el Centro Mater, su historia y sus colaboradores (2008) all published by Ediciones Universal. In her new book, Mujeres de la Patria, Contribucion de la mujer a la independencia de Cuba, she researches the role Cuban women played before and during the Cuban wars of Independence.
