Jerome Jolley, known as Jolly Jerry, lives on the streets of Los Angeles. Once an upper middle class executive, he has succumbed to mental illness, believing himself to be a prophet chosen by God to preach the coming end of Armageddon. Buffeted by society and surrounded by derelicts, drug addicts, criminals and the deranged, he somehow remains lucid regarding the issues of the time and the problems of others. Yet while able to see and comment wryly on the madness around him, he is quite unaware of his own. That insanity and the brutality of homelessness will eventually destroy what little remains for Jolly Jerry and his companions.
