A bright and imaginative middle school girl finds herself magically transported to Scotland's oldest academy of wizardry. There she meets her beloved faculty mentor along with numerous new friends. She learns skills of potion making, wand handling, spell casting, and divination. She demonstrates ingenuity, tenacity, and bravery in dealing with a number of challenging situations.
