Hole Huntin’ Techniques to Detect, Neutralize, and Destroy Enemy Tunnels

This brochure illustrates the successful techniques used by the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry to detect, neutralize and destroy enemy tunnels. The importance of methodically searching out the enemy has been repeatedly emphasized during operations in Vietnam. All too often, the Viet Cong (VC) successfully avoids detection by employing escape and evasion tactics and hiding in areas that have presumably been searched. Indicators and suggestions are given for use in locating and disposing of enemy positions.
