My story as a peacetime marine has been in mental storage for over fifty years. It required a lot of cleaning up and clearing of cobwebs to uncover what, upon reflection, now seems more hilarious and meaningful in my past than it was at the time. It was at times scary, sometimes boring and sometimes downright insane, but it was never without a humorous moment. It all begins with day one, going to boot camp, and ends with the last training exercise gone beautifully wrong as I got ready to muster out. I think it will enlighten the reader about all the training you will never see in book or movie form and certainly not talked about in any manual. If it doesnat leave you with a smile on your face, it will be because you are laughing out loud.
