Michael was born April 19, 1970, and though he is young, he has experienced several life-altering difficulties. Michael grew up like many little boys, dreaming of becoming a professional athlete. Michael’s dreams were shattered in 1984 when a moped accident took half of his left leg. After seventeen years of living with the physical and emotional pain of the lost leg, Michael would again face adversity. In October of 2001, Michael was diagnosed with brain cancer. Faced with brain cancer and the possibility of death, Michael began keeping a journal. With encouragement from his family and friends, Michael has decided to share his story and his journal. Michael’s new dream is that by sharing his story, he will positively affect the lives of others who may be facing adversity. Please consider the sharing of Michael’s story a tribute to those who have supported and encouraged him throughout his life.
