Saved from being sacrificed to extend the life and power of a priest and priestess of a cult, young Kiwi finds herself in the home of a kindly couple. Kiwi is deaf, and because of her ordeal, not overly trusting of adults. Her new family knows sign language, but very little of Kiwias past. Despite the problems, the family falls in love with the little girl. Fate steps in when they choose to take their new daughter on a family vacation. Bill and Rose Reeze take Kiwi and their other two children on a two-week cruise to Mexico. While on the cruise Kiwi spots a danger that her new family is unaware of. To save them she runs away and hides. The search is on. Who will find the runaway first a the family that only wants to love her, or the cult leaders who only want to take her life?
