Leonard Joseph Arsenault is his name. Alaskans knew him as Lenny, and they knew him well because he was always there for them. He was there in the early days to help the oil wildcatters find their dry holes, and gold miners and starving artists chase their lifeas dreams. He was there to help keep Big Oil honest, and he was there to fight the dishonest politicians and drug lords that tried to steal Alaskaas treasure (oil) and the minds of the Alaskan youth. Lennyas story is about a true life Alaskan, but is sprinkled with just enough fiction to titillate the readeras interest. This story is of a man who climbed to the top of his profession as a labor leader, but along the way he recognized the need for full employment for all Alaskans and became their labor advocate also. He exposed the back-room deals made by politicians and Big Oil, deals that cut the ordinary Alaskan out of their own labor market. The story we tell isnat about any ordinary man because the story is about an Alaskan.
