Marilyn Edith Rickman was born in Toronto, ON, Canada. After moving to Vancouver, BC in her early twenties, she eventually settled in Bellingham, WA where she eventually retired years later. Besides writing poems, Marilyn also loves to sew, and refurbish vintage furniture, but she especially loves visiting her three precious granddaughters most of all.

In third grade, Marilyn discovered that she could write sentences that rhymed! She continued to write poems all her life; poems about people she met and cherished - about family, and friends, and about the wonderful daring adventures she encountered over the years.

Marilyn's lifetime dream was always to write a book of all her poems one day! After winning a contest in 1994, with a poem as her entry, her first ever "Claim to Fame", she gained the confidence to follow her dream! As well, with so much encouragement from her family and friends over the years, Marilyn's dream came true!
