Fast Food Junky is not a diet or nutritional book. This is a memoir about the obese times of Tre Garcia. After high school graduation, Tre, a then slacker, lived a joyous carefree life jumping from relationship to relationship. By the age of 24, Tre’s weight had leaped from a 165-pounds to an astounding 282-pounds.
In the next decade, Tre’s weight would fluctuate until he would weigh his heaviest at a whopping 401-pounds. Fast Food Junky includes Tre’s journey to becoming an obese monstrosity in its truest of forms. Although Tre explains his many physical and emotional encounters, he makes it clear that his view is seen from both ends from once being a slim slender athlete to a complete pendulum swing and nearly losing the ability to stand up.
By no means does Fast Food Junky have a happy ending. Tre Garcia details his food addictions in hopes that one day he can simply fit into a medium size t-shirt, and toss away his worst 6XL shirts, and 58-inch pants.
