Molly Rae Armstrong is a twenty-four-year-old college junior when her seemingly idyllic life falls apart.

After losing her job and breaking up with her no-good boyfriend, something unimaginable occurs-she becomes homeless. With no family to help her-besides a younger brother who’s lost in the Child Protective Services system-she flees to a local shelter in an attempt to find housing. There, she instantly befriends the institution’s observant director, as well as the residents who prove to be more than meets the eye. On the street, she meets ‘Mrs. T’-a grandmotherly figure, who takes Molly under her wing. Molly attempts to put her life back together by seeking employment at a nearby coffee shop. She is instantly attracted to the owner, Don Green, and it appears to be mutual. As Don attempts to woo her, however, Molly goes to great lengths to hide her homelessness-believing Don would want nothing to do with her if he knew. However, as Molly forges a new path for herself, her thoughts about her situation begin to change. Can she find happiness with Don after all? And will she ever reconnect with the brother she’s been missing for several years?
