The monastic life was an integral part of H.H. Pope Shenouda III, not only as a monk but also as a patriarch. As a patriarch, he was very careful to spend as much time as he could in the monastery among the monks. In the 1980’s during his house arrest at St Bishoy’s Monastery, he used to sit with the monks and teach them the monastic life as he lived it. This book is a collection of these sermons which encapsulate Pope Shenouda’s true monastic life and teaching that is invaluable for today. These sermons are translated for the first time into the English language and we hope will be of benefit to all.
