The Scent of Daisies

On the last day of his life, Emmanuel Soutard woke as he had for the past two and a half years-alone. A precocious fourteen-year-old Thai girl-Lalana-shines shoes in Bangkok’s sordid Plaza. Hom, a young deaf-mute, lives on the streets. In the rainbow-lit circus of Bangkok, the lives of these very different people are bound together by circumstances that none truly understand. Yet, when the truth is revealed, they make choices that toss them into places that are worlds apart-and to an inescapable and poignant finale.
