Narrated in the voice of a petulant child, tracing his path through an ever-flattening growth arc, the book follows our wide-eyed protagonist through the embarrassment of teenage flirtation, the stark darknesses of the real world, and into the soft unreality and opportunity of university life.
Using typographical tricks to give a sense of invasion, oppression, the walls caving in on the very page itself, everyday joys turn to ashes in the grubby hands of seething youth.
