Jose Sanchez Boudy nacio en La Habana, Cuba, en 1928 y fallecio exiliado en Miami en 2016. Se graduo de doctor en Derecho en la Universidad de La Habana. Exiliado fue profesor de Literatura Hispanoamericana en la Universidad de Puerto Rico y en la de North Carolina, Greensboro. Publico mas de 100 libros de distintos generos literarios. Este fue su principal contribucion al recoger las palabras, frases ydichos del lenguaje popular cubano, de dentro de la Isla y tambien del exilio cubano, en toda su historia.

Jose Sanchez-Boudy was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1928 and he passed away in exile in Miami in 2016. He graduated as a Doctor of Law from the University of Havana. In Exile was a professor of Hispanic American Literature at the University of Puerto Rico and at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. He published more than 100 books of different literary genres. This dictionary was his greatest contribution- in it he collects words, phrases and sayings of the popular Cuban language.
