When we were stationed as Salvation Army leaders in the New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga Territory, someone gave me the gift of a blank book with a hard back, black cover and the word Think! embossed on it. So I sat down to think and to write about the Lord, who is my Shepherd. It was an incredible and blessed journey. I want to share with you my thinks, which stem from Psalm 23 and related Scripture. Each devotional relates to truths I have discovered about how the Lord is my Shepherd and is also the Lamb of God, and how I am His sheep, called to be a shepherd. New Zealand is a land of abundant sheep and people who work with sheep. Living there gave me the opportunity to speak with people who shepherd sheep and ask them for special insights. This book contains information about the needs and habits of these creatures, which are similar to human needs and behaviors. After a few conversations with sheep experts, I could clearly see why God refers to us as His sheep. Watch for those insights, which are sprinkled throughout this book. A big thank you to my shepherd friends for helping me learn these truths.
