Exhibiting Electricity

Throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, technical exhibitions, held for the benefit of the public as well as academics, presented a mirror to the progress of science, engineering and electrical technology. This volume traces the history of technical exhibitions from the end of the 19th century to the present day, with particular reference to the presentation of electrical invention and manufacture. Key factors determining the progress of electrical technology are described, together with the influence of competing nations on the changing format of the presentations.
