Each decade is covered in one volume with features including 600 black-and-white photographs and illustrations; Words to Know and Further Reading sections; and a general index. Chapters begin with a chronology of world events and a general overview of the decade. Chapters include the topics: Topics in the News, Headline Makers and Further Reading. Within each topic, alphabetically arranged entries discuss historically important events, issues, definitions of difficult concepts or terms, and other interesting trivia and sideline stories.
