Retracing My Father’s WWII Path Can you really travel for nearly a month in Europe taking no more than a pair of swim shorts, a cell phone and a few toiletries? Absolutely! But my trip was so much more than just an exercise in traveling light. In an unforgettable solo journey through Europe, I retraced my father’s WWII path in the Czech Republic and was embraced by the people of Plzen and shared in the tears of a grateful nation, even 70 years later. I also discovered my family’s roots in a small town in Southwest Czech Republic, and saw the homes of my Great-Grandfather and his father, and sat in the pew where 6 generations of my family previously attended church. unencumbered My trip was thoroughly enhanced by the fact I had no luggage, or any kind of bag to carry at all. And not once did I ever feel the need for more stuff. In this book I record this emotional journey, as well as tips on how to travel so light and still have clean clothes every morning. My trip was truly a trip of a lifetime, and I whole heartedly encourage everyone to experience the freedom of traveling light!
