A Taste of Volume II: As LeSchack’s life evolves, he becomes further involved in diplomacy, espionage and fieldwork in foreign lands and dangerous locales–in support of U.S. Realpolitic– Latin America, Soviet Union, Viet Nam, OPEC’s energy challenge to the U.S. of the 1970’s, Political Terrorism, and Castro’s export of revolution to the Caribbean and Central America; exploration in, and ballistic missile threat from the Arctic Ocean; An intelligence officer in Puerto Rico, Panama, and as a scientist, he creates a joint oil industry/Navy project to overfly a nuclear attack submarine for correlating airborne laser profiler data of the sea ice surface with the submarine’s upward-looking sonar data of the same under ice surface; and at the U.S, Forces Caribbean Command in Key West, where he is tasked with establishing a dedicated Reserve Intelligence unit to Support this Command, and he becomes its first Commanding Officer. It is in the Florida Keys that he meets his soul-mate. 1967-1990.
